John Savadjian is a top financial advisor and the principal at Old Tappan Financial, LLC. He has been working in the financial realm for nearly 4 decades. He began working in the financial industry in 1975 with Prudential and remained there for 36 years. While at Prudential he served in many capacities including sales manager, agent and assistant to the Vice President. He worked his way through the system until he ultimately became General Manager and continued to serve in this capacity at one of the largest insurance agencies in the United Sates for more than 28 years.

Career History and Awards

While John Savadjian was at Prudential in the position of agency managing director, he developed his insurance agency into a multi-line and multicultural company culture which grew to be one of the most successful agencies at Prudential. During his career at Prudential, Savadjian earned several notable awards given by the company. In 1981 He was given the Leading Sales Manage in the Eastern Home Office. Later, he was recognized as a General Manager and received more than 20 President Citation Awards one of which was the coveted Chairman’s Trophy which he received in 2005 for being the top General Manager in the United States.

Savadjian has won the yearly Final Managing Director in the USA numerous times over the years and in 2006 and 2007 he received the GAMA International Master Agency Award which is given to recognize his excellence in distribution management in the financial and insurance industries. GAMA International is a professional association which serves 5500 distribution leaders around the globe. They provide a variety of educational and training resources for those in the industry. He was also recognized in consecutive years 2006, 2007, and 2008 with the GAMA International Management Diamond Award for his excellent services and work ethics.

Educational and Professional Background

John Savadjian earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business at City College of New York. Savadjian also holds a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) as well as a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Certified Long-Term Care designation from the American College.

Savadjian maintains numerous registrations. One registration is with the SEC as Investment Advisor. This defines his role as one who is qualified and paid to provide others with advice about financial securities. As an investment advisor, he can also be paid to offer a variety of services pertaining to financial planning and be paid for managing investment portfolios. Investment advisors are also known by terms such as an IAR, or Investment Advisor Representative or a RIA, or Registered Investment Advisor.

John is also registered as a Broker with the FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority). Brokers may also be referred to as a RR or a broker-dealer registered rep. Brokers typically work with a larger brokerage firm and function as part of the sales personnel. A broker-dealer, or brokerage firm, buys and sells securities like mutual funds, stocks, bonds and a variety of other investment related products. Firms register with the FINRA and are allowed to engage in different financial transactions pertaining to securities. A broker makes financial decisions on behalf of consumers who hire them to handle these types of financial, investment matters.

John Savadjian and wife, Diana have been married for nearly 30 years and live in Old Tappan, New Jersey. They are proud parents of three beautiful children: Armand, Andre and Lisa. John enjoys watching all the major types of sports and in his spare time he plays golf and skis.
